Frangoulis Maounis

Maounis Fragoulis was born in Rhodes on October 3rd 1976. He graduated form the Electrical Engineering department of theTechnological Institution of Crete at 2002. He has also obtained a Master of Science in Distributed and Multimedia Information Systems from the Heriot Watt University of Edinburgh and is a member of the IET “Institution of Engineering and Technology, UK”.

On December of 1999 he became a member of the Research and Development (R&D) department of Forthnet S.A. at the Greek Foundation of Research and Technology (FORTH) as he was a member of the mobile services team, where he was an IT Researcher and Analyst.

From September 2002 till today he is a substitute IT professor at the Applied Information Technology and Multimedia department of the Technological Institute of Crete where he teaches the courses of “Operating Systems” and “DataBase Systems”. His activities today include consulting services for numerous of issues - subjects regarding internet applications and services, e-marketing services as well as various e-commerce and e-stragegic subjects and issues for companies in the private and the public sector representing “UsableWeb - Web Consultants Ltd” as one of its co-founders. Maounis Fragoulis is big fan of the new “Cloud Computing Model” and a supporter of global partnerships for a new “User Generated Content” World Wide Web.

As a member of the Research & Development department of Forthnet S.A., he has contributed in developing the ADOL (Anti DopingOnline) project in cooperation with the Anti Doping Lab of the Olympic Complex (OAKA) located in Marousi, Athens. He has designed and developed the MoTFAL “Mobile Technologies for Ad-Hoc Learning” platform under the European program, SOCRATES, a study that has been presented and published at the EDEN 2004 Annual Conference “New Challenges and Partnerships in an enlarged European Union” and at the International Conference on Advanced Learning Technologies (ICALT) 2004. Finally he took part in the design and implementation of the “Ipethros” platform, which was in charge of Informing and Transferring the technological know how to Crete.
